Brot explores one of the most ordinary foods as a cultural, social, and artistic material. Moving between basic necessity, religious symbolism, lifestyle product, and pop-cultural object, the project examines the changing meanings attached to bread. Through baking, material experiments, and encounters with contemporary artistic positions, students used dough, flour, crust, weight, structure, and transformation as starting points for their own artistic projects.
