Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man is subjected to a continuous process of transformation, aswell as human bodies in medicinical context. The familiar image of the idealised, proportioned body in art history becomes unstable: fragmented, multiplied and reconfigured through digital hypermorphal manipulation. davinci.med reflects on bodily norms, ideals and systems of representation, questioning the apparent universality of a body that has historically been defined through measurement, proportion and standardisation within both disciplines and uses those two inherent methods of opening and closind bodies for artistic research.
